Dhaka: A complaint was filed against National Cricket Team player Anamul Haque Bijoy on Sunday for beating and stabbing a young man.

Abdul Halim, father of victim Motaleb Hossain Bappy, believed to be 24, filed the complaint with Kushtia Model Police Station on Sunday night, reported the United News of Bangladesh.

Abdul Halim complained that Bijoy’s family had been living at a rented out apartment on the 1st floor of his four-storey house at Gourishankar Agarwal Road in Aruapara are of the district town over the last four years.

On Sunday morning, Bijoy’s father Jamil Hossain locked into an altercation with Bappy over a trifling matter.

Following the incident, Bijoy along with three of his friends went to his house from Dhaka in the evening.

Later, at about 9:00pm, Bijoy and his brother Sajib, beat Bappy with a bat and stabbed him with a sharp weapon, complained Bappy’s father.

Critically injured, Bappy was admitted to Kushtia General Hospital.

Kushtia Model Police officer-in-charge Biplob Kumar Debnath said they will take legal steps after investigating the complaint.
