Moulvibazar: A mother and her minor daughter were killed as the mother, along with her daughter, allegedly jumped under a running train at Monu railway station in Kulaura upazila in moulvibazar on Monday morning.

The deceased are Jahanara Begum (30), wife of Masandar Ali of Kotarkona village in the upazila and their daughter Ima (3), reports UNB, a local news agency.

Witnesses and neighbours said following a family feud, Jahanara along with the baby girl committed suicide jumping under the Sylhet-bound ‘Udayan Express’ train.

Confirming the incident Srimongol police officer in charge Ektiar Uddin Chowdhury said Jahanara’s body has been taken to Moulvibazar Sadar hospital for post-mortem.
