Manikganj: Miscreants cut off the wrist of a Bangladesh Chhatra League leader’s right hand in Shibalaya upazila on Sunday night.

The victim is Akash Mazumder, 22, president of ward-1 unit of BCL under Ulail union, reports UNB, a local news agency.

Locals said Akash had long been at loggerheads with BCL activist Palash.

On Sunday night, Palash called Akash over his mobile phone to an abandoned machine house in Shibrampur village.

Later, Palash and his accomplices severed the wrist of Akash’s right hand.

The injured BCL leader was sent to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar on the outskirts of the capital.

Shibalaya police officer-in-charge Rakibuzzaman said a machete was recovered from the spot.
