Narsingdi: Rail communications of Dhaka with Chittagong, Sylhet and Kishoreganj has remained suspended since Thursday morning following derailment of a train at Khanabari Station in Raypura upazila of Narsingdi, report local new agency UNB.

Following the incident, Station Master Monir Hossain went into hiding.

The Upazila executive officer Abdul Matin said four bogies of Kishoreganj-bound train Egaro Sindur Express, including the locomotive, veered off the track at about 9:30am, halting train movement on the Dhaka-Chittagong, Dhaka-Sylhet and Dhaka-Kishoreganj routes.

At least 12 people received injuries in the accident, said Abdul Matin.
