Sylhet: Police recovered the body of a high school student from Pakhitiki area near Sylhet-Tamabil highway of Jaintapur upazila in Sylhet on early Friday, eight days after his abduction.

The deceased is Pulok Chandra Raut, 14, son of Panna Lal Raut, a resident of Uttar Baurbhag village of the upazila and an SSC examinee of Charikata High School, reports UNB, a local news agency.

Police said Pulok went missing on 10 December on his way back home from school.

His father filed a general Diary with Jaintapur Model Police Station in this connection.

After tracking mobile phones, police on Thursday arrested Abdul Kuddus, 18, and Sahab Uddin, 18, both residents of the village, in connection with the incident, said sub-inspector Mintu of the police station.

During primary interrogation, the two arrestees confessed they killed the boy after abduction.

Based on the information gleaned from the arrestees, police recovered the body of Pulok from Pakhitiki area and sent it to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital, said Safiul Kabir, officer-in-charge of the police Station.

‘Police is also trying to arrest another accused Swapon Biswas, 22, in this connection,’ added the OC.
