Full-fledged BNP Chittagong city committee announced

Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Tuesday announced a 275-member full-fledged committee of its Chittagong City unit as part of the party's move to enhance its organisational capacity by overhauling its grassroots bodies.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir approved the new committee formed making Dr Shahdat Hossain its new president and Abul Hashem Bakar general secretary.
Besides, Abu Sufian was made senior vice president of the new committee while 29 city leaders got the vice president posts.
Earlier on August 6, 2016, a partial committee, appointing Shahdat and Bakar president and secretary respectively of the unit, was announced asking them to constitute the full-fledged committee of it.
Syed Sihabuddin Alam was made the treasurer of the city BNP while Manjur Alam Monju, Quamrul Islam Quamrul, and Haji M Tayeb organising secretary. Thirteen city leaders got the joint secretary post.
Tinku Das was appointed office secretary of the new committee.
Besides, a 16-member advisory council of the unit was announced.
Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Dr Shahdat Hossain were the president and general secretary respectively in the last committee of the unit.
