Dhaka: Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination candidates, who don't have the National Identity (NID) card or lost it, can apply for the exam without it.

Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) Dr Mohammad Sadiq came up with the decision on Tuesday, reports news agency UNB.

The PSC chairman said the PCS has relaxed the condition to ensure everyone's participation in the BCS exam though NID card is still mandatory for the exam.

Earlier, NID card was made mandatory for applying for the 38th BCS exam.

The last date for applying for the 38th BCS examination is August 10.
