Gazipur: Son of former BNP Lawmaker Mokhlesur Rahman was shot to death at Bhatgati in Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur on Sunday night.

The deceased is Habibur Rahman Faisal Mia, in his twenties.

Local people said a group of miscreants opened fire on Faisal around 9:30pm, leaving him injured.

He was taken to the upazila health complex where duty doctor declared him dead.

The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.

Mokhlesur was a lawmaker from Gazipur-5 constituency during the tenure of Ziaur Rahman.
