Schoolgirl killed in Lakshmipur wall collapse

Lakshmipur: A schoolgirl was killed after a wall collapsed on her at Char Mansa in Sadar Upazila of Lakshmipur on Friday.
The deceased is Tanika, 7, a nursery student of Cheerful School and College in the upazila, and daughter of Khorshed Alam of Char Mansa village, reports UNB.
Locals said the tragic incident occurred in the morning when a portion of a wall, hit by a tractor carrying soil, collapsed over little Tanika near their house, leaving her seriously injured.
She died on the way to Sadar hospital.
The driver of the truck went into hiding.
Contacted, Sadar police officer-in-charge M Abdullah Al Mamun said legal action will be taken after an investigation.
