Mymensingh: Police in separate special drives have arrested a total of 176 people from different areas of Mymensingh.

The drives were conducted here on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Additional Superintendent of Mymensingh district police (Special Branch) Joyeeta Shilpi disclosed the matter.

Of the arrestees some are accused in drugs cases. They will be produced before court soon, Joyeeta said.

The drives will continue in the areas to keep the crimes under control, Additional Superintendent added.

Police said they arrested 56 from Kotwali Model Police Station,, 27 from Moktagacha, 16 from Bhaluka, 3 from Haluaghat, 5 from Dhubaura, 7 from Fulpur, 4 from Tara Kanda, 4 from Gauripur, 10 from Ishwarganj, 5 from Nandail, 11 from Fulbaria, 12 from Trishal, 11 from Gaffargaon and 5 from Pagla upazila.
