5 hurt over cricket match clash

Kushtia: Five people were injured in a clash between two villagers— both loyal to two local ruling Awami League leaders— over playing a cricket match at Pateldanghi village in Khoksa of Kushtia on Saturday morning.
The injured were Akkas Ali, Mukta Parvin and Mizanur Rahman.
Police said the clash ensued as supporters of ward commissioner Amanur Rahman, also a local Awami League leader, locked into an altercation with the supporters another AL leader Fazlur Rahman over playing a cricket match on Friday afternoon.
Later a chase and counter chase took place over the issue, which left Amanur’s supporters injured.
Following the clash, supporters of Amanur attacked the houses of the rival group members next morning and torched a few of them.
Five people received injuries during the clash.
The injured were admitted to Khoksa Upazila Health Complex.
Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
