PM goes to flood-hit Kurigram, Dinajpur Sunday
Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visits the flood-ravaged Kurigram and Dinajpur districts on Sunday to see for herself the devastations caused by the ongoing flood fury.
During the day-long tour, Sheikh Hasina will visit some flood-affected areas in the two districts and distribute relief materials among flood victims.
The Prime Minister will first fly to Dinajpur Sadar upazila and distribute relief items among flood-hit people at a flood shelter at Dinajpur District School.
Later, she will go to Forakkabad union under Birol upazila and distribute relief materials among the affected people at Teghora High School flood shelter.
Sheikh Hasina then will go to Rajarhat in Kurigram and distribute relief materials among the flood-hit people at Panga High School Ground.
The overall flood situation in the country’s northern region improved further as water levels in major rivers have started receding.
According to the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre, the water level in all the major rivers in the northern region declined although some of them were still flowing above their danger marks.
