The Awami League rebel mayoral candidate of Dewanganj municipality in Jamalpur boycotted the election on Wednesday bringing allegation of vote rigging.

Sheikh Mohammad Nurunnabi came up with the allegation at a press briefing at about 12.30pm.

Nurunnabi alleged that he could not enter the polling stations in the face of obstacles put by the Awami League leaders and activists.

All his agents were forced out of the polling stations while some were not allowed to enter the stations by the ruling party men, Nurunnabi said.
