Seven days after she was kidnapped, Savar Police on Thursday midnight rescued a young girl from the clutches of her abductors.

Police arrested one Saidur Rahman, believed to be 32, in this connection.

The girl was rescued from a house in Majidpur upazila of Savar at about 1:30am on Friday.

Police authorities said, Saidur abducted the girl on 25 December. The girl was locked at the house in Majidpur and repeatedly raped by Saidur and his associates.

Police raided the house on Thursday midnight and rescued the girl suffering from severe injury. Police later arrested Saidur.

Savar Model Police Station acting officer-in-charge S M Kamruzzaman said the victim has been admitted to the One Stop Crisis Centre at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Procedures were underway to file a case in this regard with Savar police station.
