Noakhali: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader in Noakhali on Saturday said the countrymen want peace and progress not the politics of destruction.

‘The people of the country don’t like negative politics, rather they want peace and progress of the country. ‘ he told reporters after offering Eid-ul-Azha prayers at Peshkarhat Eidgah in Companiganj upazila here.

Quader said the politicians should pursue positive politics instead of negative one for the sake of the country’s development and this should be their commitment of holy Eid-ul-Azha.

After Eid prayers, the minister exchanged Eid greetings with the cross section of the people.

Later, the AL general secretary visited the houses of elderly and ailing leaders of Awami League and inquired about their wellbeing.
