Two siblings held during RAB’s drive at Tangail ‘militant hideout’

Tangail: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) held two siblings during a drive at a suspected militant hideout in Elenga Mosinda area of Kalihati upazila in Tangail in the early hours of Tuesday.
RAB claimed the detainees as members of militant outfit.
The two siblings were detained at about 3:00am. Later, on Tuesday morning, they were taken to RAB office.
The detainees are Masum, in his thirties, and Khokon, around 25 years old, son of the building owner Abul Hossain Chishtia.
RAB also recovered huge amount of explosive, books and locally made arms from the hideout.
Being tipped off, the members of RAB-12 cordoned off the house suspecting as militant den at about 11:00pm on Monday. The two siblings are active members of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), said RAB.
RAB-12 Commanding Officer (CO) Selim Mohammad Jahangir said they were informed that a group of militants were staying at the house of Syed Abul Hassan Chishtia at Kalihati upazila on Monday afternoon. Being informed, a team of Tangail RAB-12 cordoned off the house in the evening. Later, the law enforcers conducted drive at the house and held Masum and Khokon at about 3:00am.
According to the information shared by the two brothers during primary interrogation, RAB officials also conducted drive at a suspected militant den in Dhaka’s Mirpur, said the RAB official.
The drive will be concluded after the bomb disposal unit from Dhaka reached the spot.
