Government failed to manage Rohingya crisis: Rizvi
Dhaka: Government failed to take steps to resolve the Rohingya crisis, claimed Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
Rizvi Ahmed made the remarks while addressing a human chain organised by Jatiyotabadi Mohila Dal in front of National Press Club at about 11:00am on Tuesday.
He said government is restraining the people who offer shelter and aide to the Rohingya fleeing from the violence of Myanmar.
The senior BNP leader also said that the woman and child repressions are not getting justice because of the misrule of government. He said government, which cannot assure security to the women, and children, is not a government of people.
The human chain was organised protesting the brutality over women and children across the country including the rape and killing of Rupa.
Rizvi Ahmed said government did not take any step to ensure justice for Rupa, who was killed after being tortured. Like Bangladesh, Myanmer government is also suppressing its citizen. Rohingya women are being raped and killed. Children are killed. Their leader Aung San Suu Kyi is supporting this malice, because her government is not for people. Myanmar government is killing the Rohingyas because they are Muslims. Even, Hindu Rohingyas are killed in Myanmar.
