Noakhali: Two sisters were allegedly gang-raped by the ‘lover’ of the elder sister and his 10 aides at Noannoi union in Noakhali Sadar on Thursday.

Police arrested the ‘lover’ on Friday over the incident.

According to police and local sources, the arrestee had an affair with a 19-year-old girl in the village. He called her for an outing on Thursday afternoon and the girl along with her 18-year-old sister came out.

At one point, the man, along with his 10 associates, took the two sisters to a paddy field and violated them. Later, they ran away with the gold ornaments of the two victims.      

Hearing scream of the two sisters, local people rescued them and took to Noakhali General Hospital.

Shudharam police inspector (investigation) Mirza Mohammad Hasan said the arrestee has confessed that he along with his associates raped the two sisters. The arrestee and the two sisters have been sent to Noakhali Judicial Megistrate’s court for recording their statements.
