25 injured in B’baria clash
Brahmanbaria: At least 25 people, including four policemen, were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over a trifling matter at Syedtula village in Sarail upazila on Sunday morning.
Local news agency report quoting the Sarail police, ‘A rickshaw van driver named Chottu Miah was engaged in carrying paddy home from the land of one Bakul Miah in the morning.’
As Chottu Miah failed to bring the paddy home in time, Bakul picked a quarrel with him.
Over the issue, the two groups of villagers locked into a fierce clash at about 7:30am that continued for an hour.
Police went to the spot and opened several rounds of rubber bullet and lobbed teargas shells.
The clash left at least 25 people injured, including four police constable.
The injured were admitted to Sarail Upazila Health Complex.
