Jhenaidah: The three children, who were burned to death allegedly by their uncle over a family feud at Kabirpur village of Shailkupa upazila in Chittagong on Sunday, were buried on Monday.

Following a namaj-e-janaza at Kabirpur mosque, the victims were buried at the family graveyard in Manaharpur village in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, several thousand people staged demonstrations in the district town on Monday noon demanding exemplary punishment to the killer, Iqbal Hossain, reports UNB.

The three children–Shiplu, 10, his brother Mostafa Amin , 8, sons of Delwar Hossain, and their cousin Mahim, 12–were burned to death as their uncle Iqbal locked them in a house and set it on fire at Kabirpur village on Sunday evening over a family dispute.

Meanwhile, Iqbal confessed to the killing of his three nephews.

He told police that he tied the eyes, mouths and hands of the children and started beating up them with a hammer in their heads.

Later, he sprayed gas into the house from a cylinder kept at the kitchen and set the house on fire after locking it from outside, police said.

Iqbal Hossain, a Bangladeshi expatriate living in Singapore who returned home five months ago, had been at loggerheads with his brother Delwar Hossain, a schoolteacher, over family matters.

As a sequel to the rivalry, Iqbal stormed into Delwar’s house around 6:30pm on Sunday when only Safin, Amin and their cousin Fahim (son of Iqbal’s sister) were in the house, he said.
