Man killed in Kushtia clash over establishing supremacy

Kushtia: A man was killed as two groups of dwellers at the village of Bholsha involved in a clash for establishing supremacy in the village at Mirpur upazila of Kushtia on Friday morning.

Around 15 people were also injured during the clash.

The deceased is Asadul Haque Sarkar, in his fifties. Among the injured, 10 were taken to Kushtia General Hospital, and four to Mirpur Upazila Health Complex.

The Mirpur police Officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Rafiqul Islam told NTV Online followers of former union council member Taher Mia, and local leader Chunnu Sardar involed in a clash for establishing in the area at about 8:30am, and left fifteen people injured.

The injured were taken to Mirpur Upazila Health complex, where doctors declared Asadul Haque, a follower of Chunnu Sardar, dead.

The Mirpur police went to the spot after being informed and brought the situation under control, said OC.
