Police cordon off ‘militant den’ in Jessore

Jessore: Members of law enforcers cordoned off a house in Ghop Central Road area of Jessore on Sunday night suspecting it a militant hideout.
The Kotwali Police Station officer-in-charge ATM Ajmal Huda said tipped off that the militants are staying in the house, a team of police cordoned off a house in the area around 10:00pm on Sunday.
The house owner, Haider Ali, said being informed by a relative he went to his residence at about 4:00am on Monday. However, the police officials did not let him enter into the house.
Haider added, two families rented his house while he along with his family member stays at an adjacent house. He said Moshiur Rahman, along with his wife and three children, rented a flat at the second floor of his house. They have been living there for around a year.
Police is claiming Moshiur Rahman as a suspected militant. He is a resident of Kushtia.
Once the team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) reached the spot from Dhaka, the anti-terrorism operation will begin, the OC added.
The Jessore Additional superintendent of police (ASP) told reporters SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) members cordoned off the building.
