Elderly man dies at Ijtema ground

An elderly man died at the Ijtema ground after the Akheri Munazat (concluding prayers) on Sunday.
The deceased Abu Bakar, 60, a hafiz (man who knows Quran by heart), hails from Alipur village of Hathazari upazila in Chittagong.
Family members said Abu Bakar was suffering from heart disease. Before his death, he became ill due to chest pain.
The first phase of Biswa Ijtema, one of the biggest congregations of Muslims in the world, ended on Sunday with the offering of Akheri Munajat (concluding prayers).
Islamic scholar Moulana Shad of India conducted the Munajat which started at about 11:07am and ended at about 11:32am.
