Jessore: Police recovered the hanging body of a college girl from her room at Rajganj Bazar area in Monirampur upazila of the district on Sunday.

The deceased is Habiba Sultana Dola, about 17 years old, a second year student of Rajganj Degree College and daughter of Hafijur Rahman Dulu, general secretary of Monirampur upazila Workers Party.

Tobarak Ali, sub-inspector of Monirampur Police Station said Dola might commit suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her room. But what might have prompted her to commit suicide could not be ascertained yet.

An unnatural death case was filed with the police station.
