Two police officers closed over daylong riot that claims one life
Brahmanbaria: Assistant Police Superintendent Taposh Ranjan Bose and Sadar police Officer-in-Charge Akul Chandra Biswash have been withdrawn from their duty and closed to the district police lines following their failure to tackle a riot that broke out in the district town on Monday night.
They were withdrawn following an order from the central police headquarters in Dhaka.
Earlier, Jamia Islamia Yunusia Madrasa teacher Maolana Mobarak Ullah on behalf of agitating students announced daylong hartal for Wednesday in protest at the death of seminary student Masudur Rahman (in his early twenties) during the riot.
Seminary students, local people, traders and Chhatra League activists got into sporadic clashes centring a row between traders and seminary students.
