Police detained two suspected Rohingyas with arms after four workers were hurt at Balukhali Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar.  

Ukhiya UNO Nikaruzzaman told NTV Online, some workers were installing tubewell inside the Rohingya camp on Friday. They were working until late night. At one point, an argument took place over placement of the tubewell between the workers and the Rohingyas at the camp.    

The workers were injured as Rohingyas attacked on them. Later, police rescued the workers and sent them to a local hospital.  

Two Rohingyas were held with arms from the spot, the UNO added. He also said police is investigating for further details.

IOM, the UN Migration Agency, reported on Friday, a total of 817,000 Rohingya refugees are now living in the southern most district of Bangladesh. Since 25 August, some 604,000 people have crossed the border, having fled violence in Myanmar. This is in addition to the over 200,000 people who had sought safety in Cox’s Bazar following previous outbreaks of violence. The majority of new arrivals live in crowded makeshift settlements, with only 46,000 people living among the host community.
