Paturia-Daulatdia ferry services resume after 3 hrs

Manikganj: Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route in the Padma River resumed on Wednesday morning after three hours of disruption caused by dense fog, reports UNB.
Mahiuddin Rasel, manager (Commercial) of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha, said they kept suspended ferry services and plying of the water vessels from 7:00am to 10:05am due to blurred visibility for dense fog.
Four ferries lay motionless in the middle of the Padma.
Seven ferries with a large number of vehicles and passengers on
board lay anchored at Paturia and four ferries at Daulatdia.
Passengers suffered as a good number of vehicles had to be kept waiting on both sides of the river for crossing.
Ferry services on the important route resumed around 10:05 am as fog started disappearing with the sunrise.
