Feni: Police filed a case against 30 unidentified persons for their alleged involvement in the attack on BNP Chairperson’s Khaleda Zia motorcade in Feni during her ride towards Cox’s Bazar Rohingya camp.

Feni court inspector AKM Nazibul Islam filed the case on Wednesday morning.

Moreover, police also detained six people for hurling fire bombs and arson attack on bus while the convoy of Khaleda Zia was passing through Mahipal in Feni, concluding her four-day tour of Cox's Bazar to visit Rohingyas.

The Feni Sadar Model police Officer-in-charge (OC) Rashed Khan said bus owner, driver, and driver’s assistant are also among the detainees.

He said a case will be filed over the arson attack on buses soon. The detainees will be sent to jail after showing them arrested in the case.

Earlier on Saturday, Khaleda Zia's convoy came under attack at Mohammad Ali Bazar near Feni district town on its way to Cox's Bazar.

The BNP chief started her return journey from Chittagong Circuit House at about 2:10pm and reached her Gulshan residence at about 9:00pm.

Earlier on Monday, Khaleda Zia visited three Rohingya camps at Moynargona, Hakimpara and Balukhali, and a medical camp set up by pro-BNP physicians’ body Doctors’ Association of Bangladesh (DAB) in Ukhia.

She also handed over food, other goods and medicines to the DAB medical camp to distribute those among the Rohingya children and lactating mothers alongside providing huge relief materials.

Returning to Chittagong at about 11:35pm on Monday, she stayed overnight at the Chittagong Circuit House.

On Saturday morning, Khaleda Zia set out for Chittagong from Dhaka and her Cox’s Bazar-bound convoy came under an attack at Mohammad Ali Bazar near Feni district town in the afternoon.
