Two brothers hacked dead in Faridpur

Faridpur: Two men were hacked to death by miscreants over previous enmity at Alfadanga upazila in Faridpur on Thursday night.

The deceased are Idris Molla, in his forties, a cloth trader in the village of Magura under Shekhar union of the Boalmari upazila, and his brother, Lovelu Molla, around 42 years old, also a timber trader.

Mohammad Abul Kashem Molla, brother of the deceased, said they had a conflict with Kawsar Sheikh, a former union council member of Shekhar union. Followers of Kawsar Sheikh attacked on his brothers, while they were returning home at about 10:00pm after finishing their business at Alfadhanga market. The miscreants hacked them and left them in critically injured condition.

However, local people recovered them and took them to Alfadanga Upazila Health Complex. Later, they were shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, as their condition deteriorated. The brothers died undergoing treatment at about 12:00midnight.

The Alfadanga police Officer-in-charge Nazmul Karim said the bodies were sent to morgue for autopsy.
