Barguna traders go on strike, shops closed for indefinite period
Barguna: A dawn-to-dusk hartal, enforced by local traders for Sunday in reaction to an attack on apparel stores by miscreants at the Barguna town on Saturday, is underway.
Barguna Chambers of Commerce at a meeting on Saturday called the strike which begun at 8:00am on Sunday.
The business organisation also decided to keep shutting down all shops at the town indefinitely before arresting the unknown attackers.
NTV Online Barguna Correspondent said all business organisations remain closed as the strike commenced. No unprecedented incidents and picketing took place in favour of the strike.
The sufferer businessmen complained a group of miscreants led by Barguna Tarun League activists Ovi, Prince and Sohel attacked on Talukdar Cloth Store at the town on Saturday morning.
Police arrested two people — Nayan Das and Sohel — in this connection.
