Plot on to keep Khaleda Zia off polls, alleges Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday alleged that a conspiracy is on to keep their party Chairperson Khaleda Zia and other leaders out of the next parliamentary elections.
He came up with the allegation in his brief speech after offering fateha at the grave of great national leader Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani at Santosh in Tangail marking his 41st death anniversary, reports the UNB.
‘We want a neutral election under a supportive government where all political parties will enjoy equal rights,’ Fakhrul said.
Mentioning that the country’s people will not accept any election keeping BNP and Khaleda Zia out of it, he said a neutral election will have to be arranged through a movement under the leadership of Khaleda to ensure people’s voting rights.
‘A pro-people government has to be established dethroning the oppressive ruling government,’ the BNP leader added.
