Chuadanga: Indian Border Security Force (BSF) handed over four Bangladeshis to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at Jaynagar check post in Darsana area of Damurhuda upazila in Chudange on Sunday afternoon, reports UNB.

The returnees are: Fatema Bibi, wife of Abdus Salam, a resident of Mathura village on Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar, their sons Helal Uddin, and Mohammad Hossain, and daughter Ayesha Khatun.

According to BGB, Fatema Bibi along with her sons and daughter entered the India territory illegally through Hili border in search of job there on 17 March, 2011. Indian police arrested them on the same day from Malda railway station.

Later, an Indian court sentenced Fatema and Helal Uddin to five years’ jail each for illegal trespassing in Indian territory while the two kids sent to a safe-home in Kolkata.

Director of Chuadanga BGB battalion 6 Lt Col SM Moniruzzaman said on completion of the jail term, the four family members were handed over by BSF through a flag meeting with BGB at the border.
