The National Parliament on Monday passed the ‘Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Science and Technology University Bill- 2017’ for massive expansion of science education and world-class technology in the country.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid moved the bill in the House aimed at flourishing the higher education and research relating to science and technology in the country, reports the BSS.

According to the bill, the education ministry has undertaken the initiative for establishing a university in Jamalpur district as part of the Prime Minister’s announcement for expansion of higher education on science and world-class technology.

Earlier, the minister introduced the bill in the Jatiya Sangsad on September 10, 2017.
