Dhaka: Government on Tuesday asked the school, college and madrasa teachers to play vital role to curb child marriage.

The call came through a circular issued by the Ministry of Education, reports UNB.

The circular said teachers and staffs of the educational institutions, Imams and Muezzins are requested to discourage parents from marrying off their children prematurely.

They are also asked to check the valid age documents of the brides and grooms before the registration of the marriage.
