Chapai Nawabganj: A covered van driver was killed as miscreants hurled petrol bomb at the covered van at Kansat of Shibganj upazila in Chapai Nawabganj in the early hours of Tuesday.

The deceased is Shipon Ali, 30, resident of Borhanuddin upazila in Bhola.

Police and local people said miscreants threw petrol bomb at a Sona Masjid-bound Nabiullah Cargo Service covered van at Kalabari area.

The van’s driver burnt to death on the spot.

Shakil, the driver’s assistant was also injured during the bomb attack. He was taken to Shibganj Health Complex.
Shibganj police officer-in-charge Moinul Islam said the body of Shipon was sent to Chapai Nawabganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
