Dhaka: The Primary and Mass Education Ministry has approved a decision for recruiting head teachers in government primary schools across the country through the Public Service Commission (PSC).

Primary and Mass Education Secretary Mohammad Humayun Khalid told this to UNB.

A total of 5,000 posts for head teachers have been lying vacant and the circular for recruitment in those posts will be published soon, he said.

Of the total requirement, 65 percent of the head teachers will be appointed through promotion of the existing teachers while the rest will be recruited through the PSC, he added.
