176 sacks of OMS rice seized in Rajshahi, one arrested

Rajshahi: Police in a drive seized a truck carrying 176 sacks of rice meant for open market sale (OMS) at Sapura in the city on Sunday and arrested its driver.

Tipped off, police conducted the drive around 12:30pm when the rice-laden truck was heading towards Baharampur from Rajshahi Sadar food godown, said Aman Ullah, officer-in-charge of Boalia Police Station.

Later, they seized the rice and arrested driver Firoz as there was no legal document, the OC added.
