Manikganj: Ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route in the Padma River resumed after four hours of disruption caused by dense fog on Tuesday morning.

Manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha Mohiuddin Rasel said the ferry services were disrupted from 4:00 am to 8:00 am due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.

Seven ferries in Paturia ghat and four ferries in Daulatdia ghat remained stranded while over four hundreds of other vehicles were waiting at the both ghats for crossing the river, he added.

Besides, four ferries Keramat Ali, Dhaka Service, Rajnigandha and Khan Jahan Ali, were stuck in the middle of the river.

Later, ferry services resumed around 9:00 am as fog disappeared.
