The two accused are Hedayetullah Anju BSc and Shohrab Fakir. Both were members of local Peace Committee during the Liberation War in 1971.

Prosecutor Abul Kalam and Sabina Yeasmin Khan Munni submitted the charges bringing six specific allegations against them in the cases filed for crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.

A three-member bench led by Justice Md Shahinur Islam fixed January 8 to start introductory speech on behalf of prosecution, said Sabina Yeasmin.

Of the accused, Shohrab is in the jail while Hedayetullah is on the run, she added.

Six allegations including murder, mass killing, torture, abduction and arson at Madhuakhari, Mobarakpur, Shukhari and Madan villages in the district were brought against the accused.

ICT investigation team submitted investigation report on September 8 in 2016 following the allegation.

A total of 40 people were made witnesses in the case, said prosecutor Abul Kalam.
