Police arrested a primary education officer and a female assistant teacher of a primary school from Dilkhola area in Khulna on Thursday as a case was filed by the teacher’s husband over her ‘illicit affair’ with the education officer. 

The arrestees were — Ashit Kumar Barman, assistant primary education officer of the district and Nusrat Jahan Poly, wife of Mizanur Rahman, reports the UNB.

Police said that Nusrat’s husband Mizanur left the house at night for going to Dhaka. But he returned home around 11:00pm and found Ashit with his wife in an objectionable condition.

Police arrested them as Mizanur filed a case in this connection.

They have been sent to jail on Friday.

Ramendranath Poddar, primary education officer of the district, said that they have heard the news and will take action on Sunday.
