Two-taka notes seized at Benapole
Benapole: Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized new notes of Bangladeshi two-taka worth 84,000 from Benapole Checkpost on Tuesday morning during smuggling to India.
Lt Col Ariful Haque, commanding officer of BGB-49 battalion, said that tipped-off, a team of BGB conducted a drive around 7am and recovered the taka.
However, no one was arrested.
A case was filed.
The notes were being smuggled across the border to sell to drug addicts to turn those into two-dollar notes by printing.
