Chittagong: A court here on Thursday put Abdul Hannan, an accused in the case filed over the robbery incident when four women were raped in Karnaphuli area of the port city on December 12, on a 3-day remand.

Police said Abdul Hannan alias Hannan Member, hailing from Karnaphuli, is the mastermind of the robbery incident.

Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Imran Khan passed the order after investigation officer of the case Shantos Kumar Chakma of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) sought a seven-day remand to interrogate Hannan.

Earlier on Wednesday night, Hannan was arrested from in front of the Kotwali Police Station.

PBI members also arrested another two- Abu Sama and Mizan Mattabar-- earlier on Tuesday for their involvement in the incident.

On December 12, a gang of robbers allegedly raped four women after committing burglary in a house at Karnaphuli.
