Tangail: Traffic on the Bangabandhu Bridge halted on Monday morning as authorities had to stop toll plazas of the bridge due to dense fog.

The suspension of the vehicular movement due to poor visibility caused around 30km tailback at both ends of the bridge, causing immense sufferings to thousands of passengers.

Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station officer-in-charge Asabur Rahman said movement of all kinds of vehicles has remained stopped to cross the bridge since 7:50am.

Hundreds of vehicles got stranded at both ends of the bridge stretching Mirzapur of Tangail in the east and Bogra in the west.
