Schoolgirl, sister hacked for ‘refusing love proposal’

A teenage boy allegedly hacked a schoolgirl and his younger sister at Khamarmagura village in Baliakandi upazila of Rajbari on Tuesday night reportedly for refusing his love proposal.
Police arrested the boy, Alauddin Sardar, 16, son of Moktar Sardar of the village, over the incident, reports the UNB.
Victims’ father said Alauddin stormed their house around 9:00pm and swopped on his daughters — a Class-X student, and her younger sister, a Class-IX student — in their bedroom.
The attacker chopped the two sisters with a sharp weapon, leaving them injured.
As other house inmates and locals rushed in hearing victims’ screams, the attacker fled the scene, he said.
The injured sisters were first taken to Madhukhali Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
Hasina Begum, officer-in-charge of Baliakandi Police Station, said they arrested Alauddin and Rahman filed a case over the incident.
According to the case statement, Alauddin made a love proposal to the Class-X student, which she rejected.
