Satkhira: Police arrested 45 people from different areas of Satkhira from Friday to Saturday morning.

Satkhira police media wing sub-inspector Kamal Hossain said they arrested 13 activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir.

Police arrested them at their regular raid to protect law and order, Kamal Hossain added.

The media wing claimed they were purportedly planning to commit violence and subversive activities.

The sub-inspector said another 32 people who had warrant issues in different cases was arrested.

They were sent to jail, he added.
