Pabna Medical College closed sine die after BCL infighting

Pabna: Pabna Medical College was declared closed for an indefinite period on Friday following a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) over establishing supremacy on the campus that left at least 10 people injured.
Two factions of the pro-Awami League student body—one led by Pabna Medical College unit of BCL president Mahfuzur Rahman Nayan and another by its general secretary Oditiya—had been at loggerheads over establishing dominance in the campus compound.
As a sequel to the enmity, followers of the both groups engaged in a clash in the morning, leaving at least 10 of both groups injured.
Following the incident, the college authorities shut down the campus for an indefinite period, said its principal Dr Riazul Islam Reza.
All the students were asked to leave their respective dormitories within 2:00pm.
