Munshiganj: Ferry services on the key route in Shimulia-Kathalbari in the Padma River remained suspended since early Sunday due to dense fog.

Ferry services on the Shimulia-Kathalbari route in Munshiganj came to a complete halt from 6:00am due to blurred visibility caused by thick fog, said Shah Newaz Khalid, assistant general manager of BIWTC.

Four ferries were stranded with thousands of passengers in the mid-river, causing immense sufferings to passengers amid chilling cold weather.

The ferry services on the busy routes will resume once the visibility returns, said BIWTC officials.
