Narayanganj: Two suspected robbers were killed and four others injured in a lynch-mob attack at Baligaon in Bandar upazila early on Wednesday.

Quoting local people, additional superintendent of police M Sharifuddin said a gang of around 16 robbers entered the area around 5:00am to commit robbery.

Sensing their presence, a group of local people went to a mosque of the area and announced the attack of the robber gang using a mike, Sharifuddin added.

Following the announcement, locals came out of their houses and besieged six members of the robber gang.

Later, they gave the bandits a tremendous thrashing, leaving two of them dead on the spot and four others injured.

The identities of the deceased couldn’t be ascertained, said the additional SP adding the injured were taken to Narayanganj Victoria Hospital.
