Students of seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University (DU) on Thursday blocked the Nilkhet intersection demanding publication of results of their second year examinations by February 25.

The students of 2014-15 session took position on the streets around 11:30am and continued their demonstration untill 2:00pm, reports the UNB.

Students withdrew the demonstration around 2:00pm after DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman reached to the spot and assured the protesters of results by February 25.

Vehicular movement on the road from Nilkhet to Azimpur remained halted for at least two and half hours due to the blockade.

The seven colleges became affiliated with University of Dhaka in February 2017.

The affiliated colleges are Dhaka College, Eden Women’s College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Begum Badrunnesa Government Women’s College, Mirpur Government Bangla College, and Government Titumir College.
