In a rare move, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday replied to the allegation brought by an opposition MP standing on the point of order in Parliament.

Standing on the point of order, Jatiya Party MP Kazi Firoz Rashid alleged that various kinds of drugs, including Yaba, are being used alarmingly across the country.

While he was speaking about the spread of drugs in the country, especially the capital city, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from the opposite site asked him to name some of the spots, reports the UNB.

At this stage, the Jatiya Party MP mentioned the names of some places, including Golap Shah Mazar, Gulistan, High Court area, Kamalapur Railway Station and Nayapaltan.

In response, the Prime Minister said the government will conduct drives against drug use in those places on Wednesday. ‘I’m taking note of the places and we’ll conduct drives there today (Wednesday). We don’t want to see such things.’

She asked the MPs to take special care of their respective constituencies to prevent the drug abuse.

Dismissing Firoz’s allegation of spreading drugs, Hasina said, ‘We’ve controlled it. It (drug) doesn’t spread. It (drug use) was larger.’
